Wheel hub bearing structure and function
Hub bearing is a composite bearing, including inner ring, outer ring, rolling elements, cage and sealing ring. Its working principle is to realize the driving of the car by flipping the bearing steel ball in the inner ring, outer side or flange raceway.
Wheel hub bearings have gone through several major stages of development:
First generation: composed of double row angular contact bearings.
Second generation: There is a flange on the outer raceway for fixing the bearing, which can be simply put on the axle and fixed with a nut.
Third generation: The wheel hub bearing unit is combined with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and is designed with an inner flange and an outer flange. The inner flange is fixed on the drive shaft with bolts, and the outer flange installs the entire bearing together.
The fourth generation: The constant velocity universal joint and the bearing are integrated into a whole, which solves the problem of wheel hub size and weight, makes the bearing assembly more reasonable, reduces the weight, reduces the volume, and reduces the production cost.
