An automotive electronic water pump is a water pump with an electronically controlled drive unit used in cars. The automotive electronic water pump is mainly composed of three parts: overcurrent unit, motor unit and electronic control unit.
The electronic water pump is a new type of water pump that uses piezoelectric materials as the power device, completely electronic from control to drive, and uses an electronic integrated system to completely control the liquid transmission, thereby achieving adjustability and accuracy of liquid transmission.
The electronic water pump consists of a pump casing, an impeller, a sealing ring, a motor casing, an electrical plug, a motor assembly, a bearing, a rotor, a controller, a control seat, a back cover, and fixing bolts.
The automotive electronic water pump pressurizes the coolant to ensure its circulation in the cooling system, allowing the coolant to continuously circulate through the radiator and various components of the engine block to take away heat and ensure that the engine does not become too high.
In the engine block of a car, there is a water channel for cooling water circulation, which is connected to the radiator (commonly known as the water tank) placed at the front of the car through a water pipe to form a water circulation system. The upper water outlet of the engine is equipped with a water pump, which is driven by a fan belt to pump out the hot water in the water channel of the engine block and pump cold water in.
There is a thermostat next to the water pump. When the car is just started (cold), it is not opened so that the cooling water does not pass through the water tank and only circulates in the engine (commonly known as small circulation). When the engine temperature reaches above 80 degrees, it is opened and the hot water in the engine is pumped into the water tank. When the car is moving forward, the cold wind blows through the water tank and takes away the heat. Only when the coolant circulates can the engine cool down.
Commonly used materials for components in electronic water pumps are mostly polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). PPS materials have the characteristics of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and good flame retardancy. It is the most cost-effective special engineering plastic material. It has high temperature resistance, stable dimensions and is not easy to deform, has excellent electrical properties, and is resistant to chemical corrosion. It has comprehensive properties such as flame retardant UL94V-0 level, excellent electrical insulation performance, and hydrolysis resistance. At the same time, the modified PPS gives it high fluidity, high toughness, high wear resistance, high strength, coolant resistance, CTI, low dielectric and other characteristics, ensuring the reliability of the electronic water pump.
The water pump shell has strong bonding force with metal, high strength, high welding line strength (to avoid product cracking during storage), and hydrolysis resistance. The use of PPS material can meet its material requirements. It is injection molded in one piece, easy to process, and has strong structural stability and is not easily deformed.
The impeller is molded by PPS injection molding, which is characterized by high strength, flame retardant and high temperature resistance, high toughness, dimensional stability, and long service life. The water pump rotor is molded by PPS injection molding, which has the characteristics of high wear resistance and high strength.
