Valve Cover / Rocker Cover – VC-60023

The ‌valve chamber cover‌ is an important component on the top of the engine. It is mainly used to install the valve drive mechanism and other parts, and plays the role of sealing the valve chamber to prevent the pressure generated during the combustion process from leaking into the atmosphere, and at the same time plays a role in heat dissipation. The valve cover is usually made of plastic material, which has multiple advantages such as weight reduction, energy consumption reduction, shock absorption and noise reduction, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to adapt to complex structural designs.
The main functions of the valve cover include:
‌Sealing the valve mechanism‌: Prevent dust from contaminating the engine oil and preventing dust intrusion from causing accelerated wear of valve mechanism components‌.
‌Camshaft Protection‌: Located above the valve chamber, protects the camshaft from damage‌.
‌Cooling‌: Helps the cooling system keep the engine within the normal operating temperature range‌.
The valve cover can be made of aluminum alloy casting or thin steel plate stamping, and a special valve cover gasket is installed at the joint with the cylinder head to ensure good sealing performance.
Regular inspection and maintenance of the valve cover is important to ensure proper engine operation. If the valve cover is damaged or leaking, it may cause engine overheating, performance degradation, or even stalling and other malfunctions‌5. Therefore, regular replacement or repair of the valve cover is necessary.
