Frequently asked questions about brake disc break-in:
The newly replaced brake disc needs to be run-in to remove the oil stains and coating on the surface of the brake disc. The method is: drive at a speed lower than 30Km/H, brake lightly, the oil stains on the brake surface will be eliminated, and then drive at a speed of about 100Km/H to check the cooperation of the braking system;
Minimize the number of sudden brakes during use to prevent the disc temperature from rising sharply due to sudden braking, causing thermal recession or even sintering points, resulting in weakened braking effect and jitter;
Red rust will appear on the brake surface when not used for a long time. This situation will not affect the performance of the brake disc. You only need to apply the brake about 60 times at low speed, and the red rust will fall off naturally. If black rust appears on the brake surface, this kind of rust is stubborn and will cause thickness differences in the brake disc. If it cannot be worn and removed after applying the brakes, it is recommended to replace the brake disc to prevent insufficient braking force at critical moments.
The brake disc is an important safety component. It is recommended to check the working condition of the braking system frequently. If there is wear, deformation, sintering, etc., it is recommended to replace it immediately.
Brake disc installation precautions:
Before installation, the brake disc head mounting flange must be cleaned and rusted to prevent vibration caused by unqualified beating;
Clean the anti-rust oil and coating on the surface of the brake disc to prevent brake slip;
After installation, check the table to see if the runout and DTV are qualified. The standard runout value is 0.1mm. In order to reduce brake vibration, it is best to minimize the brake disc runout;
It is recommended to replace the brake pads when replacing the brake disc.
